Cyber Security InfoSec Engineer (ISSE) – Salary Range - $203K – $219K

RCT Systems is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support a cloud-based application and its infrastructure on a secure network. The ISSE will work with a team of developers, engineers, and architects to ensure security for the system. The role involves on-call duties and responding to issues as they arise.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Implementing and assessing NIST SP 800-53 security and privacy controls.
  • Developing secure configuration baselines using DISA STIGs and CIS benchmarks.
  • Contributing to the creation of secure architectures and designs.
  • Ensuring security requirements are integrated into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Performing Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) for Assessment and Authorization (A&A).
  • Creating and maintaining A&A artifacts.
  • Conducting security analysis and vulnerability scanning for a 100% AWS-based system.
  • Remediating security findings and implementing security solutions.
  • Collaborating with Information System Security Managers (ISSM) to accredit systems.
  • Leading or participating in technical meetings and documenting outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Typically requires a BS degree with 11-16 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Linux (CLI), scripting languages (BASH, Python), and networking (ports, routing, VPNs, firewalls).
  • Familiarity with NIST SP 800-37, 800-53, 800-160, DISA/CIS STIGs, and CVEs.
  • Experience using RMF workflow tools and working with Agile teams.
Desired Qualifications:
  • IT certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Cloud Security).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible or Terraform.
  • Experience working in an AWS cloud environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
This role is focused on maintaining a secure cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security standards, and working in a collaborative environment to protect systems.
