Software Developer (IDAM) [Expert Level] - $179k-$199k

Reston, VA
RCT is seeking an experienced Software Developer to support Intelligence Community entitlement, identity and access management (IdAM/ICAM), authentication, authorization, and digital policy management programs. The role involves full software development lifecycle responsibilities, cloud application development, and collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance software applications and databases.
  • Build and support cloud-based applications and migrate legacy systems.
  • Develop unit and integration tests; perform software testing and validation.
  • Maintain operational systems and troubleshoot software issues.
  • Analyze requirements, design solutions, and optimize application performance.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineers, analysts, and developers.
  • Create technical documentation, workflow diagrams, and user guidance.
  • Use Git for source control and support Agile development practices.
  • Coordinate programming activities and mentor or review team members' work.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree with 11–15 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Python, and/or XML.
  • Experience developing web applications and working with cloud services.
  • Knowledge of Windows and/or Unix environments.
  • Experience with Git and software documentation.
  • Familiarity with writing unit and integration tests.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Spring Boot and PostgreSQL.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and scalable cloud architectures.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Passion for learning new technologies.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community missions and customers.
