Assessment and Authorization Specialist - $200K – $225K

Role Overview: Supports the Sponsor’s organizations by leading Certification & Accreditation / Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities across desktop, voice, and audio/video IT environments. The role focuses on RMF execution, system security compliance, and maintaining a strong Information Security Program throughout the system lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Run and manage the full A&A/RMF process, including greenlighting systems
Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs)
Conduct security scans, mitigate findings, and manage vulnerabilities
Perform security updates, patching (Windows/Linux), and configuration management
Support system configuration and deployment (e.g., laptops)
Guide systems through security approval processes
Advise stakeholders on improving security processes and architectures
Coordinate with Sponsor staff and technical management on operational effectiveness
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT/cybersecurity (or equivalent experience)
Strong experience with RMF and INFOSEC policies and regulations
Experience with security documentation, repositories, and tracking tools
Knowledge of cyber threats and mitigations (malware, zero-day, DoS)
Strong communication, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide senior-level technical guidance
TS/SCI with Polygraph
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with the Sponsor’s A&A process and project lifecycle
CISSP certification
Familiarity with the Sponsor’s IT infrastructure, systems, and networks
Ideal Candidate: A senior cybersecurity professional who can independently lead A&A efforts, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical leaders, and ensure systems meet stringent security and compliance requirements.
