Assessment and Authorization Specialist - $200K – $225K

Supports the Sponsor’s organizations by leading Certification & Accreditation / Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities across desktop, voice, and audio/video IT environments. The role focuses on RMF execution, system security compliance, and maintaining a strong Information Security Program throughout the system lifecycle.

Ideal Candidate:
A senior cybersecurity professional who can independently lead A&A efforts, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical leaders, and ensure systems meet stringent security and compliance requirements.
RCT Systems offers:
Supports the Sponsor’s organizations by leading Certification & Accreditation / Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities across desktop, voice, and audio/video IT environments. The role focuses on RMF execution, system security compliance, and maintaining a strong Information Security Program throughout the system lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run and manage the full A&A/RMF process, including greenlighting systems
- Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs)
- Conduct security scans, mitigate findings, and manage vulnerabilities
- Perform security updates, patching (Windows/Linux), and configuration management
- Support system configuration and deployment (e.g., laptops)
- Guide systems through security approval processes
- Advise stakeholders on improving security processes and architectures
- Coordinate with Sponsor staff and technical management on operational effectiveness
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/cybersecurity (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience with RMF and INFOSEC policies and regulations
- Experience with security documentation, repositories, and tracking tools
- Knowledge of cyber threats and mitigations (malware, zero-day, DoS)
- Strong communication, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide senior-level technical guidance
- TS/SCI with Polygraph
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with the Sponsor’s A&A process and project lifecycle
- CISSP certification
- Familiarity with the Sponsor’s IT infrastructure, systems, and networks
