Assessment and Authorization Specialist - $200K – $225K

Role Overview:
Supports the Sponsor’s organizations by leading Certification & Accreditation / Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities across desktop, voice, and audio/video IT environments. The role focuses on RMF execution, system security compliance, and maintaining a strong Information Security Program throughout the system lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Run and manage the full A&A/RMF process, including greenlighting systems
  • Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs)
  • Conduct security scans, mitigate findings, and manage vulnerabilities
  • Perform security updates, patching (Windows/Linux), and configuration management
  • Support system configuration and deployment (e.g., laptops)
  • Guide systems through security approval processes
  • Advise stakeholders on improving security processes and architectures
  • Coordinate with Sponsor staff and technical management on operational effectiveness

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/cybersecurity (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience with RMF and INFOSEC policies and regulations
  • Experience with security documentation, repositories, and tracking tools
  • Knowledge of cyber threats and mitigations (malware, zero-day, DoS)
  • Strong communication, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide senior-level technical guidance
  • TS/SCI with Polygraph

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with the Sponsor’s A&A process and project lifecycle
  • CISSP certification
  • Familiarity with the Sponsor’s IT infrastructure, systems, and networks

Ideal Candidate:
A senior cybersecurity professional who can independently lead A&A efforts, communicate effectively with technical and non-technical leaders, and ensure systems meet stringent security and compliance requirements.
